Buoyancy Poem by Liam Cross

Buoyancy

Rating: 4.8

when the ship is sinking
even the captain flees
and risks chancing the ocean of uncertainty
so why
when your ship is sinking
do you try to hold on?
yes, maybe at one point
it did keep you contently afloat
but to stick around when it's sinking
after the ship has sailed
is futile
is to drown in the ocean
rather than swim in it.
the wisest thing to do
is to plunge in
swim on
and find another ship
to keep you afloat
another heart
to match the buoyancy of yours.

You're right, but you'd need to be able to swim or at least have a life jacket on until you find another ship or another buoyant heart to match your own. Some good points raised in the poem.
