Burma Iconic Lady Aung San Suu Kyi (The Peacock) Poem by U Win Kyi

Burma Iconic Lady Aung San Suu Kyi (The Peacock)

She was kept under house arrest
like a caged bird.
She was kept silent.
An opinion she could not express.
She was thrown many a malice
but that could not make her quit.
Now she is free.
Now the world see.
Like a peacock, she flied high
over the Europe sky.
Like a dancing peacock, she shows Burmese beauty.
Like a fighting peacock, she fights for democracy.
The notorious leaders in army,
wallowing in bitter jealousy.
She becomes their sour grape
as the global fame she had made.
