Burma Iconic Lady Aung San Suu Kyi Poem by U Win Kyi

Burma Iconic Lady Aung San Suu Kyi

Wearing flowers on her head
white, yellow and red
she looks beautiful and elegant.
She wears neither bullet-proof vest
nor decorated military badge.
She does not hide in a hole like a rat.
The army crushed the people relentless,
causing thousands of injury and death.
for which many nights she had wept.
She is a father-like daughter.
He fought for independence from British Colonizer.
She now fights for freedom from army leaders.
She was put many years under house-arrest.
Not a tear would she shed.
Her determination for democracy was put to test.
It was neither bent nor broken to fragment.
Burma once was a country of wealth.
But now so behind it is left.
For her mother-land she would fetch
a freedom for her country interest.
For that she talks the talk
she waiks the walk,
nothing can stop.
It is the road of no return
though many restrictions and bans.
She lives in people's heart.
People live in her heart.
She gains global admiration and love.
