Burned Poem by Aron West

Burned

The agony of feelings unrequited
So little a flame that I've ignited
Still a flame that steals away my rest
A pain so consuming bursting thru my chest

So cold a man I was once before
Now I burn with passions I can't ignore
This fire now raging, I can barely contain
Thru my smiles she sees, we share this pain

Burning, yet again, in this fire I've started
Cursed by the fear of the broken hearted
My wounds have yet to heal after all this time
But I'd risk the scars to call you mine
