Burning Through My Petals Like Fire Poem by Minnie Gehrig

Burning Through My Petals Like Fire

now the snow lies dirty n heavy against the cold dark
of the winding pavements...
n i have your arms
they are there always..
by ghost,
n reality..
n still it sinks in,
Beneath blue skys
n the cold winter sun...

Lonliness.
coming undone..

White pills leave me listless..
there is no room for poems..
a growing sadness
emerges from my throat..
a low moan...
n you think it is an orgasm...

Chasms between us
like the grand canyons..
n i wonder if you feel
the space between us
when my flesh touches yours....

these thoughts slide off your body.
my tears marking your shoulders..
N i love you the best i know..

Like a book unfolding slow in front of you..
n you cried to think of losing me..
your tears scarred my rose..
burning through my petals like fire...
