Bus Shelter Poem Poem by Dave Birss

Bus Shelter Poem

Rating: 4.5

I didn’t even love her
It was just my urge to discover
More about the fairer sex.
Education.
Not infatuation.
We slinked into the shadows
And it was a tangle of tongues,
A fumbling of fingers,
A slap on the wrist
And an awkward silence.

I stepped into the light.
Tidied my hair.
And decided to continue my lessons elsewhere.

You have made my evening a real 'chuckly' one Dave, your poems flow so well, and are so good in their imagery. Excellent. Love Ernestine XXX (Definitely my kind of poems) .
