But All I Am Is A Smallness In A Small Space And Time Poem by Shalom Freedman

But All I Am Is A Smallness In A Small Space And Time

BUT ALL I AM IS A SMALLNESS IN A SMALL SPACE AND TIME

The long day has not yet begun
The world is still waiting for me to move
Soon I will try
But the world is so much in so many ways
Outside myself
I know so little of it
I delude myself thinking my world is the world
But all I am is a smallness in a small space and time
And even my disappearance
Will not be measured on any major cosmic instrument
Vast vast worlds outside me
And I here with my little words
Typing poems of wished -for beauty which will never reach the stars.
