Butterfly Poem by Paul Day

Butterfly

Butterfly, you graced my eyes for just a short while.
Yet you remain so vividly and beautifully implanted.
And upon your memory I smile.
You’ve left an impression that will remain so sacred.

Butterfly, you’ve taught those who saw you so much.
Now I know of the truest purity.
Though I only saw a glimpse of you, I won’t forget your touch.
A soul like yours deserves a human body.

Thank-you, butterfly.
