I'll miss you when you're gone
but I'm ready for you to leave.
You reminded me of what once was lost.
You showed me I can still love.
I only wish I could have done the same for you.
You deserve so much more
than you allow yourself to have.
You deserve to be loved,
but don't want to get hurt.
Isn't it better to have loved and lost,
than never to have loved at all?
Not for you.
You feel a broken heart.
I feel one ready to be mended.
You remember a broken past.
I'm planning out your future.
If only I could love you,
and have you love me back.
If only I could be with you,
and never break your heart.
But even with the smallest chance
that I could make you hurt.
I recognize your life is fine as is,
without me in it.
