Bye-O-Bumble Bee Poem by Sherri Vogel

Bye-O-Bumble Bee

I'm sorry Mr. Bumble Bee my bug collections due
And on the list of bugs I need your name is mentioned too.
I've already caught a lady bug and a butterfly
So far eighteen other bugs but please don't ask me why
The teacher thinks it's needed in order for an 'A'
To destroy a living insect take its life away.
Place it in a Mayonnaise Jar with a cotton ball
That's soaked completely through with rubbing alcohol.
Waiting for that moment when death shall come to you
So I can take a sharp pin and shove it right on through.
Then your life is ended you no longer have a home
Your body's laid to rest on a big white piece of foam.
The 'bio' teacher grades them there's not much left to say
Except thank you Mr. Bumble Bee you helped me get an 'A'.
