You'Re My Inspiration Poem by Sherri Vogel

I know I never thanked you
But in my heart I always do
For all the inspiration
I was given right from you.
My feelings always hidden
You never knew me well
My thoughts were written down
For things I'd never tell.
In poetry and music
Somehow you were always there
To fill that space I guess
That knew you'd never care.
But I wouldn't trade a single day
And I don't have one regret
For I feel that I was truely blest
For the chance that we both met.
From all the people in the whole wide world
I'm sorry I singled you out
To be one special person I chose in life
To write my poems about.
You were my inspiration
And only God knows why
And it's something that I can't explain
So I won't even try.
