When you hear the caged bird it aint tweeting,
Its screaming out in pain for its freedom,
It doesn't understand the reason,
That its stuck with no hope of ever leaving,

Wonder what it thinks of when its dreaming,
When a cage is all its ever known,
I wonder if it knows its meant to fly,
When its never flown,

Wonder if it looks at the window,
Up high in the sky,
And knows its the same as the birds,
who are flying by,

I wonder what's the translation of the lyrics,
That it sings in its song,
I bet even though it knows no different,
It knows that its been wronged.
