Calling Me A Boater Poem by Randy McClave

Calling Me A Boater

Do not call me a boater
Sitting on top of a floater,
Because, I am more than that
As I wear my Captain's hat.
I'm the captain of my pontoon
Which I have steered through many a monsoon,
Though only when I sleep and dream at night
Under the river's moonlight.
I have sailed the mighty seven seas
In a summer breeze,
As I have sailed up and down the Ohio river
Sometimes, with a cold shiver.
I'm the captain of my ship
Pirates never ever give me any lip,
Wherever that I might ever sail
Adventure in my lungs I do always inhale.
I am the captain of my mighty craft
As I steer my 21 foot raft,
As I sail on the river of green
I'm the Captain of the St. Pauline.
