Candle Of Life Has Died Poem by No Reason To Care

the candle of life
has been blown out
the rivers of love
have run dry
the sun has been put to sleep
by the moon
for the final time
in my eyes

the dogs stop barking
the sirens fade
the sobbing ends
but tears still fall
they mix with the blood
of every hopeless child
they mix with the tears
of young mothers
they mix with the last shred of hope
until all is lost

the sun comes back up
but it's still dark
the neighborhood is silent
no dog dares bark
tire tracks from the ambulance
stay in the dirt
the crying is done
but there is still hurt

this happens a lot
in normal neighborhoods
because this is what happens
when another person
try's suicide

weather they live
or die
everyone always
has to wonder
WHY?
