Capricious Love Poem by DR KUSUMITA MUKHERJEE

Capricious Love

Can love be such a cheat?
Crumbling pieces in the palms of my hand- -
What an impossible feat!
What an ignoble band!

Love is but while it is
Listless, dreary yet supreme.
No sooner forgotten is
Faltering near the brim.

Calm before and after
Tense in between
Tighten the halter
Oust the screen.

Humongous details have been laid bare
Infinitesimal hovers to dare.
