Don't be miserly
Or obtuse with one's words. Be
Poetic at times.
Be simple, yet quite profound.
Be witty, but not flash.
Just be balanced and measured.
Never appear bored,
Irritable or angry.
Common courtesy
Is also a requirement.
Don't be sloppy,
Or half- arsed or complacent.
Be focused, sprightly.
Use lots of rhythmic phrases.
Be precise. For good
Grammar and punctuation
Are essential. And
Always take time to stop and
Check. Presentation
Is important. Then perhaps,
One can consider
How one's key messages are
Connected. How will
They be read and digested
By the receiver?
Effectiveness in terms of
Communication is
The gold standard in these days
Of impoverished
Manners and notions. Make one's
E-mails as precious
And vital as works of Art!
