careless light
scattered random diamonds across
my subsidized windowpane
careless light
awakened the sparrows twittering
where the small tree had been
down below
and now there was a stump
and the ghost tree shook her silvery leaves
still there. in a fairy like dimension
and I dreamed castles
where no one inspected
my refrigerator.
or judged me squinting sidewise for having
too many books for your average, below average idiot plebian.
