Carnal Desire Poem by shakil ahmed

Carnal Desire

Carnal Desire

She sat beside the whispering reed,
Yearning for a companion to lead
She was all alone in the deep forest
None was far and near to behest.
Her auburn curl was lifted by soft air,
A butterfly was peeping to see her despair,
A parrot was singing in a melodious tone
As if it wanted to be a part of her moan.

She was a girl-pretty and smart
But now her lovely dress was torn apart
Sign of scratching, in her face, was visible
Last night was, for her, really terrible
She fought with world’s most dangerous animal
Last night was, for her, really dismal
She was abducted by an unknown criminal
To satisfy his desire that we call carnal.

The violent tempest blowing over her soft bosom
Had a bitter taste and created a chasm
This unwanted stain will last long
In moments of joy, she will sing only sad song.
