Catch In Your Throat Poem by Paul Warren

Catch In Your Throat

She looked me in the eye
And said what makes you cry
The tear you can't control then
That starts and doesn't end

Do you just let it go
Or wipe it so it doesn't show
And it catches in your throat
Like a high-pitched note

And your everyday tasks
Become more than you can ask
To sit in silence is the thing
Whilst the memory of it will ring.
