I do agree, but I have been told by my own teens it is the way we make our selfs different. Not to be the norm. Not for me and for them, turn 18! Patricia

An interesting take on the decisions made by modern youths. On a personal note, there is no set norm when it comes to youths. In other words, your norm might not be their norm - or more importantly, youths may despise people of 'the norm' and therefore not want to be like them, so they dress differently and follow certain trends. It is a complicated situation that has many factors affecting it - the dispositions of the parents themselves, the media, the people around them on a day-to-day basis. Also, take into account that it really is not easy being a kid nowadays. Youth society is brutal, trust me, I'm in there. - K.
