Causation Poem by Tshegofatso Mohlala

Causation

I cannot help but to think of the things we do,
And how they affect the people around us,
If God did not drop the dew,
We would have to settle for dry grass.

On Second thoughts; we could have never knew,
Unless we gave our course a start,
As the perfect storm is brewed,
We cross our hearts and hope it does not affect us.

As we reflect on the lines we drew,
Because of division among us,
Our minds suggest the forbidden thought of starting anew,
Yet our hearts stubbornly reject us.

There once were men who came from New,
With a fresh prospectus,
But the old dog never knew New,
As we passed by he would bark and attempt to bite us.
