Celebrations Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Celebrations

Celebrations

Slowly, walked for time,
-hive to hive, in the hall.

Heard dogs bark
-anxiously in waiting
-behind doors and lonely.

Masters out for dancing,
-to enjoy drinking
-possibly beyond this.

Wished I had many keys
-opened locks to release
-all those pets in cages
- (of tiny, large houses.)

My eyes were like clouds
-rained to heal and drown
-hills of pains inside me
- (planted, growing!)

Felt heard cat mewing:
- "Hate such a poor living! "

Linguist, polyglot
-I have lived with them all
-so, could feel animals
- (found cat right!)

Do not lie, don't bluff:
- "Our pet is one of us, "
-the pets are prisoners
-like men of freedom
-in hands of dictators.

Cruelly you set laws
-for being in and out;
-you say when to eat what,
-where to pee and its how.
-Why do you castrate?
-For the sake of smell?
