Cell Misery Poem by Boghos Artinian

Cell Misery

We shed no tears
for the keratinized billions
cast off daily
by our skins.

Nor do we care
for the cell rights
of those de-nucleated
to ferry oxygen.

We show no concern
for the myriad lymphocytes
that die in silent battles
within our bodies.

Cell misery is taken
for granted and furthermore,
their emancipation is cancer
to be nipped in the bud.
