Cenotaph Poem by syma tasaduq

Cenotaph

Rating: 2.8

Sun leaves for the west..
leaves the east and a ray.
Leaves the both and north and south..
in darkness that betrays.

Leaves behind, with all its light..
a ray, when sun does leave.
With all its light, lights the words..
on pages bond in sheaves.

Lights at dark, a sleeping mind..
for wisdom and vigility.
And drags the feet and takes the eye
..towards truism and reality.

Lights the hearts and makes them warm..
..in love's heat and passion's grace.
Lovers lost or away from home..
there somewhere make a homely place.

..With the light a lot stronger..
than light house or guiding star.
Light of that ray that lights the way..
of travellers travelling far.

Setting sun and wrecked ships..
are cold and dead in sea.
A trembling soul in cold, dark night
..seeks refuge in memory.

..Of dear ones left behind.
Of long time gone dear times.
Of home sweet home and songs..
..that leave the echoing rhymes.

Echoes, wisdom, love and light
..espied in cold and dark and late.
In a ray that stays when sun is gone
..like Cenotaph of a great.
