Chained Poem by Kairi Hall

Chained

Rating: 5.0

I was once told a story
Of a girl draped in chains
Surrounded by life's problems
Weighed down by fear and pain
She passed by unnoticed
No one dared steal a glance
So she sat there alone
She never had a chance
Knowing not to give into her sorrows
She gave up on being sad
So she jumped to her feet smiling
People wondered, had she gone mad?
In response to their confusion
She just gave them a wink and laughed
For you can never move forward
If you're chained to the past.
