Chaitra/ It Maddens Me Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Chaitra/ It Maddens Me

Chaitra

Blazing hot of,
Scorching sun of Chaitra
When the earth parches, cracks and dries
With fissures to be seen,
The hot loo blows it,
Days seem to be longer
And never-ending
And the sunlight falling directly,
We feel it restless,
Wanting to quench thirst
With cool water,
Waiting for the rains to burst upon.

It Maddens Me

When the sweet scent coming
From the flowering
Tall-tall, old shaal trees ruffle it
With the playful summer winds
Scattering it over the pollen and the scent
With the dy leaves fluttering and falling to scatter around
And the new glistening leaves coming out.

Cashew nut small-small trees in blossom
Ruffling me with a strong smell
So maddening and redolent
And the shirish trees with tenderly magical blooms
Light green yellowish and white and pink-hued varieties.
