Chameleon Poem by hajara abdul khader

Chameleon

Dawn breaks with the fall on earth of life,
Take to water, ducks flock upto their lay.
Parts from stream, sticks out to knife,
From utmost naivete a duckling out of way.

Music falls on the ever-listening ears of her,
Dances to the rhythm a dame rife with life,
Wavers her art away from the stream to err,
And breaks off the infinite bonds of fife.

Masses buzz in the frenzy of anthill rush,
Bustles with zest mob pushing their way forth,
Backs one far from the maelstrom of flush,
Also falls in a tearful world of wrath.

Life a disheartening gallows for the rooted man,
As the world is held by nomads till they can.
