Changes Poem by Jesenia Molina

Changes

It's funny how things turn out in life
The things that were so simple before
Become the hardest to overcome

It's amazing the feelings
You can have towards someone
The constant change in your emotions

A curse set upon you as you get older
As you learn more about everything
How did we see the world as innocent?

Your emotions become messed up
And your hormones are in whack
You make rash decisions with rash consequences

Things that were once good
That were the best at first
Soon become the worst in the end

You've now seen the deceit
And you see the world for what it is
And the lies and hatred come to light

You feel the Suffocation
No anticipation for the future
Only dread in your heart and soul

Innocent children don't stay innocent
The stories told to children dont come true
You pray for something told as a child to come true

But just as before
Your dreams are broken and shattered
And you become like everyone else

A hollow shell of what you once were...
