CHARMING CHINESE CHAP CHIT-CHATS
BETWEEN STOPS - WOT!
or
'ZENME YANG! '
('WHAT'S UP? ')
'Ahhhhhh you...Irish! '
'You not...Londonish? '
'I much like
the way your voice talks
& how the tongue of you
say my name
in that funny way! '
'It make
my eyes smiling
& laughter falling
out of my mouth.'
'You understand
what my mind is
...playing? '
'Ah...Woking! '
'My stop here! '
I like very much
chatting off your ears! '
'Zai- jian! '('Goodbye! ') I smiled
& then...he was gone.

This gentle man dressed himself as an English gentleman(as if he were from a Monty Python sketch) everything except the bowler hat. He greatly enlivened the English language for me and made it a delight to me...I was sad when he got off at Woking and I continued on to Guildford.
* 'ZENME YANG! ' pronounced dzummah yahng.
* 'Zai- jian! ' pronounced zigh-jee-in
