Cheese Chase Poem by Ima Ryma

Cheese Chase

Gloucester, England, down Cooper's Hill,
Big wheels of Gloucester cheese do roll.
Contestants chase, trying their skill,
To catch a cheese wheel is the goal.
Very few wheels of cheese are caught.
The hill is very steep, and so
Contestant injuries - a lot,
But tiz the challenge, doncha know!
An annual event, ev'ry spring,
The first in 1826,
Who woulda thunk there's such a thing
Some people do to get their kicks!

Why do this is easily solved.
Lots of alcohol is involved,
