Child Poem by Rokket Grrl

Child

You try not let go of all we have felt
But somehow these roses still seem to melt
They flow down your face like soft, blue tears
And they make you feel like a child, they steal many years
You feel foolish and stupid to cry for this girl
But somehow you still feel like you've lost the whole world
You took her for granted when she came back to you
And you'll never say sorry for all you'll do
You'll never be a man because you're still a child
A child who can be unpredictable and wild
You can't treat her right when you can't be mature
And you'll never know when or how to be sure
She'll leave alone and you'll end up having to raise yourself
So vulnerable to the world and everyone else
Because you are foolish with a temperament that needs to be mild
Because you know deep down you are still a child
