Child Is Reborn Poem by V.Muthu Manickam

He was an acclaimed technocrat
His knowledge in Science was great
Not that he holds a Doctorate in Engineering
But getting Doctorate under his Guidance was recurring

When he retired from Service on superannuation
when offered to be a consultant, he shown no inclination!
He was completely changed for his own good
He entered back into the world of his childhood

Becoming an acclaimed Scientist, earlier he wished
But now he wanted to live what he had missed!
He realized what he needs to pursue and enjoy
He become, by heart and soul, an young boy

His neighbors and children of that area noticed myriad change
As actions of an outstanding Scientist, set to be strange
Now he readily renounced his professional status
Becoming an ordinary among the ordinary became his focus

All along he had run like a race horse
Now he got lot of spare time in his burse
In word and deed, he become an ‘ordinary alike'
Now he enjoys the plays of children by becoming a 'child like'

Children too were skeptical initially but slowly accepted him as one
He is happier each moment with joy and fun
Ordinary life gave more joy than a high profile professional position
Of course, a child is reborn as a unique edition!

We all were born as a child
Even after years it remains at least as mild
Childhood is the happy and innocent stage
Being wise, he only discovered it at old age

Leading an ordinary life costs nothing
No need to toil to get anything and everything
Better is a soul to enjoy what we have
Bitter is abundant wealth, not to crave!

Even at old age, he keeps his childhood alive
So that he manages to maintain, to happily live
Almost all fail to keep childhood alive when they grow
This is the message from the life of the Scientist, for joy to flow
