Child Trafficking Poem by Bireswar Halder

Child Trafficking

A mother fulfills her motherhood by giving birth to a child
And child is one of the wonders to her as she feels fortunate
This beautiful child - an angel - comes from heaven to her lap
She forgets all her pains and grief after the angel enters the womb.

The dreams she dreamt with her child don't last long
The mother's lap becomes a void and she starts crying loudly
The living angels are now prey of some unscrupulous doctors
The barbaric Satan in human guise sells out this child.

These heartless beasts start business of child trafficking everywhere
They never think of the fate of these children and their mothers
These inhuman criminals can do whatever they like for money
And we do observe as mute spectators - no protest against the heinous crime.

Are we observing silence for the dead or living human beings?
Why we are so deaf and dumb, who will treat us - these inhuman doctors?
The time has come to awaken all and to raise the voice jointly
That can be done by the kind hearted public and not by others.

Oh cruel doctors, have you forgotten the oath taken by you all
To serve the mankind irrespective of caste, creed and religion
Please leave the noble profession if you are really hungry for money
What a degradation of morality - think twice before plunging into such crime.
