Childhood Feelings Poem by Phil Soar

Childhood Feelings

I tried to mask my feelings
When I was only six
Her looks had left me reeling
My mind was playing tricks
We danced around the playground
When our breaks allowed us too
I hung on every word she said
Until the break was through
I thought about her every night
As I would fall asleep
Her looks had set my heart alight
Her voice was such a treat
Then as I looked at her features
And Asked if we could date
She said, "You cannot date your teacher"
And our love would have to wait
