Childhood Love Poem by Andra Wadas

Childhood Love

Rating: 5.0

A childhood love
Do they last forever
We shared our first kiss
On a swing set together
Our lips seemed like
They were meant for each other
A nervous little girl
For so long trying to get your attention
The day had finally come
Then time past as we grew
Our lives went separate ways
Then a surprise

On the forth of July
To see you once again
My heart started to race
Even though you
did not recognize my face
Through the years things have changed
As soon as I saw you
Flood doors opened
Emotional recognitions
Of a past childhood crush
Wondering if you would remember

The surprise on your face
To see it was me
Your smile lit up the place
A familiar connection
As our eyes met
A flame has restarted
My heart was always yours
All you had to do was ask
now that we are older
An open communication started
To lead to our next phase
The hours of talking
catching up over the years
Then finally the second kiss
To feel your lips pressed against mine
I wish you knew how I was feeling
So hard for me to express
My long time friend,
Now a new lover
A kiss that has not stopped
Bodies intertwined
Not knowing yours from mine
To feel you so closely
Consuming inside of me
Your hands caressing my skin
The world is silent
there is this moment in time
For us only
As you hold me so tightly
Not wanting to let go
Our rhythmic movements
Together in sink

our breath quickens
Wanting you more
My heart yearning to stay
closing my eyes tightly
To freeze this time
Hoping it will last for an eternity
As life goes
Our time expired
You choose a different road
You found a new love
That took my place
Leaving me shattered in your past
My heart is still yours
Even though you are gone
Maybe some day
On the forth of July
Our paths will cross once more
The third time around
Could be the lucky one
You may see I am enough for you
A friend, a lover a soul mate forever
So for now I‘ll say I love you
And see you in our future
