Childhood Pain Poem by Phil Soar

Childhood Pain

'Turn off the lights, pull out the plugs
Before you go to bed'
My mother said those bloody words
But I had mine instead
'Mother you are quite the tit
And getting on my wick'
That's when my father spoke to me
Then hit me with a stick! .

It was 1958 and was acceptable then! !
