Children Poem by priscah Mutswenje

Children

They make you young.
They give you a reason
to smile and take a break.
They check your tongue.
And move to you away from treason.
They are strong to lead the trek.

They remind you of the past.
They console your lonely moments.
Beside you they stand confidently.
A happy tomorrow they cast.
In no way do they hide comments
sweet and bitter they share openly.

They see now they saw then
the young at heart have a great light.
Stand by them to feel the warmth.
It's nothing less than a sane.
Heart and head above set height.
That brings mentorship forth

Fear not their presents
they may be a nuisance once
yet a flower and music forever
If wisely mothered, their presence
beautifies a home and give you chance
to plan, long, and a life add flavor
