Children Poem by Amanda May Moore

Children

Children are a funny happening
We were all once a child—
And many of us still are.
How are you still considered to be a child you ask?
It is a funny concept is it not?
I being 18 years of age am still a child.
Though the age by many is considered to be an adult…
I think not.
With each day we grow.
With each day we begin to show
The true meaning of what our lives have been geared towards
One is foolish to think that they know what life intends.
There are so many twists and turns and bends.
Each of us is given genes, but of these genes
There are other means
In which we fulfill our need-
None of which are by greed.
To fully grow;
To fully be grown
One must give themselves to faith.
There is a master road map in which we do not know
So in this unknown it is necessary to grow.
So as a child we learn to grow-
We grow in love,
We grow in joy,
We grow in peace,
We grow in patience,
We grow in kindness,
We grow in goodness,
We grow in faithfulness.
Once our goal in life is fully realized,
Once we have given all trust in Him-
Then we can be fully grown
No longer children.
