Chilly Night Poem by Akinbode Oluwaseun

Chilly Night

Under the open sky I stood
Billions of stars I gazed at
On thin ice I thread
Afraid of breaking a heart.

Cold is this very night
Even the tadpoles wishes for rain
The trees clapping their branches
Tapping their roots in this chilly night.

A noble creature amidst all I found
Bouncy but defiant
A stubborn elegant of beauty
Of her braveness I'm stunned.

With a mere gaze from her
My inside turns cold
With a smile playing on her lips
I am always drifting with happiness.

How I wish u were close by
Sitting down and counting the stars with me
Even the heat which would emanate
Would bedazzle the chilly night.
