Chipshop Melody Poem by Rachel BaByBeAr Anderson

Chipshop Melody

Can you hear it?
the roar of the oil bubbling away
the sliding of metal on metal
the crunch of waste being thrown in the bin
the ring of the box being opened again and again
the gently crinkle of the paper being folded
can you hear it?
the tinkling of metal knifes and forks on plates
the sizzling of oil being dripped off
the slinging of the square glass plates being slid to and thro
the shaking of pots being sprinkled
the squeezing of bottles being strangled
can you hear it?
the voices of the metal pans drinking more oil
the banging of the fridges being shut
the snapping of boxes being arranged
the slamming of doors
the scrunching of paper being thrown
can you hear it?
the tea bags being thrown into cups
the cans being arranged into fridges
the food being wrapped
the counter staff taking orders
the clattering out back
can you hear it?
the melody of the chipshop symphony

Oh ho ho I really like this one, I always luv it when people like you stop and listen and hear a song in the most unlikely of places. Great.
