Chirp Cheep Poem by David Darbyshire

Chirp Cheep

Rating: 5.0

The bird sings,
the church bell rings.
Chirp Cheep, Ding Dong,
Nothing can go wrong.

Now the birds are silent,
and the church is empty.
Very still, not one sound,
no cat, not even a Bee.

Seems like something has gone wrong,
no birds, no people, no ding dong.
So I went to town to take a look,
On the way, funny the earth shook.

Make no mistake,
it was an earthquake.
So everyone ran and hid,
just as the birds did.

What a shame,
no one is to blame.
But now the church is overflowing,
with believers praying and singing.
