Choices Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

Choices

Is it the things you say and do to me
Or the things I say and do and say to you
that's puts us down, or makes us blue
The way we wear our clothes, or who we
pray to in our church, that turns the
others off and leaves us in a lurch
Maybe the music that inspires us, or
the books we love to read
It's the choice of each individual,
not someone else's greed
The foods we eat, or the sports we like,
or our choice of natures realm
Let each one be the Captain of their ship,
the Master of the helm
Don't try to put one down for their Race,
or the color of their skin
We must move on in a positive way, not go
back to where we've been
So say hello, shake my hand, a hug or
even a smile
Let's show respect and patience
Maybe stop and chat awhile
