Christmas Bell Poem by Ima Ryma

Christmas Bell

An old and small and tarnished bell
Fallen off of a harness, I
In the stable corner did dwell.
I had no purpose and so my
Ringing no longer did occur.
But then that night there came the birth.
I felt a miracle for sure,
Such an event that it be worth
My time and place to ring my best.
So from the stable rang my sound,
And for such purpose I felt blessed.
I became heard the whole world 'round.

First bell to ring that Christmas morn,
That baby Jesus had been born.
