Christmas Eve Snow Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

Christmas Eve Snow

Considerable time has passed since I can remember
A fresh snow having fallen on the 24th of December.
About four o'clock this afternoon it looked like snow.
So I stayed home, having no particular place to go.
I got busy with putting odd and ends of stacks away
Hated for Christmas to come with my house in disarray.

When next I looked outside to check on the weather
Snow blanketed the ground … no bareness whatsoever!
All traffic had stopped, there was absolutely no sound
And a feeling of calm quilted everything around.
