Send me a songbird this Christmas,
I'll learn her song sung from the heart;
A soul thus soaked with Godly bliss
Will never cause this guest to part.
Falling snowflakes make her flight slow
While her wings need rest for a while;
My caring touch brings back her glow,
For me she smiles a festive smile.
Glints as stars on a Christmas tree,
Shimmers and streamers everything -
She feels so free with lonely me,
Her song mingles with church bell's ring.
Notes of her song be candle's light -
My Merriment in solitude;
I honor her as God sent Sprite
Who brings a changed attitude.
Oh, little bird! My tiny gift!
Your songs are my jubilation,
Anchor me from sailing adrift
On a path of new salvation.
Gauge my glee in a heartfelt way,
Her songs transcend the Eden's song;
Pervades my soul to wade and play
In a pool of mirth carrying along.
