Church Poem by ROGEL FRANCIS SORIOSO

Church

The Church that we've built was never about greed
The Church that we've built was all about faith or creed
It was never about the priests or nuns making a wealthy living
The Church was all about sharing, caring and also giving
Making the people believe in a God, Creator and Master
So we could avoid all these destruction and disaster
It was never about spending millions for the house of God
But helping those people who are starving and sad
So what if your Church is made of wood and tin roof
God doesn't want a Church worth millions as a proof
It doesn't matter if your Church is made of stones of marble
He wouldn't ignore you if your Church looks like a stable
He wrote the Bible as a symbol of courage and hope
So people won't end up hanging their necks to a rope
We don't care if your Church is made of simple wood
We would rather listen to you if your intentions are good
The saints, priests and nuns are not higher than anyone
For they listen to all your prayers equally as one
You don't even have to give and pay
So your Church would listen and pray
We used to held our mass next to a river or under a tree
There were no donations and the mass was free
Now we pay for baptism, funeral and wedding
And where does this money goes in the ending
We could honor or condemn the Holy Bible
We are willing to face the consequences or trouble
Now that the Church is treating religion as a business
We would deny you all the meaning of forgiveness
We shall crush and destroy the Church we've built
There shall be no apology and guilt
