Church's Food Poem by Randy McClave

Church's Food

I'm not excited going to church today
To our Wednesday fellowship to dine and pray,
I do love worshiping and I truly love our God
Which is an actual fact and not ever a story or a facade.
Every Wednesday at 6: 00 pm we have the Lord's supper
Dining with friends and strangers is always an upper,
Where many of us brings our own dessert dish
Now from now on it will be a sad and forgotten wish.
I heard from now on for our churches dinner
They'll be no more desserts, have we all became a sinner,
They told us how they now want us all to eat healthy
Sounds unbiblical to a Baptist and kind of stealthy.
I thought that the church's true main goal
Was to nourish the mind and feed the spiritual soul,
I remember reading Jesus's eating and drinking and who he dined with
Now it sounds like we're becoming a dinner hypocrite.
Us members would bring homemade desserts in as well
Even more food for our dinner's with their tempting smell,
Now they tell us we can't bring those side dishes anymore
Now I feel like I am entering a stranger's door.
Dinner today, we will be having potato salad and also ham
That's unhealthy as is potatoes, pizza and spam,
I truly wonder why they are doing all of this
My church's home cooked meals we all will sorely miss.

Now as I read and think of a Biblical verse
Before, I head later empty handed to my Church,
It says, "It's not what goes in the mouth that defiles you"
"But, what comes out of the mouth which is true".
