City Blossoms Poem by matthew broxton

City Blossoms

Flowers in a garden,
Roses and their thorns,
seeds were sewn,
and now they're in blessed bloom.

I see you dance,
waltzing to a classical tune,
you're eyes sparkle,
you're hands grasp the air,
feeling, caressing,
surrounded, shrouded
now you're in bloom too.

I want to watch you forever,
because I'm too scared to talk,
a moment can be so precious,
stepping into it,
might just shatter it.

All is glamour,
all is golden and magical
effervescent and all too real,
but glamour that is all.

Cities are concrete
shrines to consumerism
bowing to a fake idol's feet,
tarmac now
where's the cobbled streets?

A garden of flowers in bloom
is a dream for many,
trapped in a bedsit
they're isn't much room.

Window boxes,
and imagination can engulf the gloom.

Maybe the glamour and the girl
are in the next room?

Your poem makes me very curious, I love the imagery in it though my two favorite points are: a moment can be so precious, stepping into it, might just shatter it. and Cities are concrete shrines to consumerism bowing to a fake idol's feet, tarmac now where's the cobbled streets? Though the idea about the shrine can be read at least 3 different ways so i am a bit curious about that as well. I usually prefer to immediately understand a poem, but in this case I dont mind that there is a bit of mystery, fantasy, even glamours: 3 Beautiful work~
