Nicole M. Martin

Climbing

Hanging from the tree in her backyard
We’re too old for this, we know

We know

But the air is warmer than it has been
Has ever been, so

We laugh

I’m wielding the camera happily
I don’t need to be in the picture because

We’re all there

Our smiles are almost ready
Almost ripe like the plums

We picked
