Close your eyes she said
And I obeyed
Like fog blinding a beach
And open your hands
Placing a flower across my palms
Innocently kissing my cheeks
Both of them
The way they do in France or Italy
And locked her eyes in mine
Asking me to always remember this moment
Like I am
With these simple words
Of a flower still hiding in the dim light
Of my palm
